Did you graduate from University of Florida? Are you proud of it? Do you miss it? Well, for all you University of Florida grads who have left Gainesville (and for those who are still living in the Gainesville area) here are a few of those special landmarks, campus buildings, restaurants and even a watering hole that you probably spent a few too many hours in while you were a Gator. Here are some University of Florida pictures that every Gator grad will recognize immediately.
2. Albert and Alberta Gator Statues
3. Library West (And East!)
4. Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (aka The Swamp)
This hallowed patch of grass needs no explanation to any true Gator. Chomp Chomp Chomp.
5. Century Tower
Century tower is the beautiful landmark overlooking all of the UF campus. A true beacon to all Gators.
6. University Avenue (it looks much different now!)
We thought we’d give you youngsters a peek at what University Avenue looked like many many (yes, many) decades ago. And while it looks nothing like this anymore, it has always been a place for the students to go and blow off a little steam.
7. Lake Wauberg
This is Florida, after all. When it gets hot, there’s no better place to be than in the water. Just eight miles south of campus, there’s a good chance you jumped in this lake once or twice when you were a gator (or maybe when you were back visiting for a game!)
8. Purple Porpoise
This iconic Gainesville bar has had it’s ups and downs, but most University of Florida grads will recognize this bar with the playful name.
9. Satchel’s Pizza
This is on the newer side, but since it opened in 2003, Satchel’s has become a UF grad icon. If you haven’t seen it with it’s fun and crazy art around the restaurant, then definitely check it out!
